Pachmarhi
Defined as “hill station” which is basically a town at a high elevation, Pachmarhi or Satpura ki Rani is 1000m high in the Mahadeo hills of the Madhya Pradesh state of mid-north India. Traditionally a very serene and sparsely populated place, the British soldier Captain Forsyth “discovered” it in 1857 for the western world and it became a station for the British Army, with its population rising rapidly.
